About Margo Singleton

margo_singleton BPAMy name is Margo and I am the Founder and Director of Bath Pilates Academy.  Created because I am passionate about helping people feel better through Pilates, movement and relaxation practice.  I believe that changing one person’s wellbeing can have a positive impact on an entire community.

I have created a series of programmes; At Work and Classes in the Community,  which are designed to bring relief from the stresses and tensions created by our busy lifestyles.  I also teach workshops and classes for Golfers to help them improve their performance and prevent injury.  I am a qualified Franklin Method Pelvic Power teacher specialising in the pelvis and the pelvic floor.

I know how stressful life can be and how important it is to take time out to relax and repair the mind and body.  Using Franklin Method techniques of mindful movement,  I train bodies that are vulnerable, those that are exceptional and everyone in-between.

My Pilates experience began 20 years ago when I was working in marketing for a global hotel company. Travelling around the world, lugging heavy bags and sitting for hours on end, I was suffering from various aches and pains, back and neck problems.

My interest in Pilates grew as I found relief from shoulder stiffness, hip problems and backache by practising Pilates Matwork whenever and wherever I could.  I discovered I couldn’t function without Pilates and my interest in becoming a teacher grew as I found such relief through regular practice that I wanted to share with others.  In 2010 I left my stressful job and began my training to become a Pilates teacher.

Have you ever been in a class that is busy, you are at the back and unsure that you are doing the exercises properly?  Classes are small and you will be shown how to do the exercises correctly with warm and friendly guidance and precise instruction.  All Pilates movements are given with clear step by step instruction and sometimes hands on assistance – correcting and assisting the way an individual is standing, sitting or lying so that help can be given in learning how to perform the exercise movement in the correct postural alignment.

  • 2010 trained with Body Control Pilates
  • Hold a Level 3 Matwork qualification, the industry standard
  • Member of the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS) and a member of the Body Control Pilates Association, committed to Continuing Professional Development.

I am committed to continual study and progression while currently studying for a Level 4 qualification, the highest in the industry.

Everyone is an individual – my aim is to enhance your personal fitness and make you feel better after class.

That stress and tension can be relieved with regular Pilates practice.
